In China, a new trend caused animal rights activists to complain vehemently. Vendors sell keychains with plastic bags containing living fish or turtles at subway entrances.
Mostly Brazilian turtles or king fish are popular keychain animals. Inside the sealed plastic bag, they swim in colored water which contains enough nutrients to keep them alive for months.
However, activists claim that there is not enough oxigen in the plastic bag for the animals to survive. In China, there isn´t a law which forbids selling the keychains.
