Phones sold by Verizon will soon have a sticker on them which warns buyers of location tracking software on the device, according to a letter Verizon Wireless has sent to two politicians.
Those politicians, namely Ed Markey (Dem.) and Joe Barton (Rep.) had previously asked the four biggest wireless carriers about their location tracking habits.
"This device is capable of determining its (and your) physical, geographical location and can associate this location data with other customer information," the sticker reads and gives advice on how to avoid other customers accessing personal data.
