Boy, 12, Headed for College

Twelve-year-old Alex Beach from Georgia is heading to college this fall. Alex is a unique boy, who is autistic and blind in one eye. He also has a genius IQ and is fluent in Japanese and Latin.

Alex has composed his own music and is a whiz at chess. He will be going to North Georgia College and State University after he graduates from Eaton Academy. According to Alex, he said that it is amazing that he is going to college at a young age.

Alex´s mother Melinda stated that the school is ready to help Alex and knows that he needs to test in a separate room. Alex was held back to allow him to get more social skills, but was ready to go to college when he was 10.

  These kids
are just amazing! It always seems that autism in some cases means super intelligent and makes me think that some autistic kids that we cannot reach means that we cannot ´speak´ their language.
