Girl Announces Birthday Party on Facebook - 1,500 Uninvited Guests Cause Chaos

A 16-year-old girl from Germany announced her birthday party on Facebook, but didn´t set the invitation as private. 1,500 uninvited guests crashed her party and caused mayhem.

When around 15,000 strangers confirmed to attend the party, the girl, whose name is Thessa, officially cancelled the party. Her parents informed police and hired security guards to protect their house on the day of the party.

Although the party was cancelled, 1,500 guests arrived with presents, birthday cakes, alcohol and banners stating "We love Thessa" and "Now more than ever".

An excellent way to keep in touch, but pretty useless for any other feature it offers.

I´ve heard of some recent thefts/breaking and enterings that have occured because folks update their status with, "GONE FOR 2 WEEKS TO BERMUDA!" for everyone and their mother to see. I mean, check it out, even a person NOT on your friends list can see that type of stuff if your friends comment on it.

But hey, without it, we don´t get stories like this.

  I agree
with the 3 comments directly above. Awesome.
While they don´t celebrate that in germany, it would have been a whole new level of sweet 16.

Are you a 16 year old girl?

I think that was probably the clincher for 1499 of them.
