Michele Bachmann Says She Once Had a "Devastating" Miscarriage
Speaking at a campaign event in South Carolina last night, Michele Bachman, one of the few women who have run for office, said she once had a miscarriage.
After having two children, the politician and her husband lost their baby, which she describes as "devastating".
"At that moment, we didn´t think of ourselves as overly career-minded or overly materialistic but when we lost that child, it changed us, and it changed us forever," she told a crowd of about 400 people.
I wouldn´t want to make light of something like losing a baby. I´m certain that it would devastate the strongest people. I´d probably collapse straight into a puddle of jello myself and I won´t lie, that story actually makes her a bit more human to me.
That being said...
"At that moment, we didn´t think of ourselves as overly career-minded or overly materialistic but when we lost that child, it changed us, and it changed us forever."
...at which point she DID become overly career minded and overly materialistic. The TEA party was just the next logical progression.
"At that moment, we didn´t think of ourselves as overly career-minded or overly materialistic but when we lost that child, it changed us, and it changed us forever."
According to the source, the next sentence is:
"We made a commitment that no matter how many children were brought into our life, we would receive them because we are committed to life."
Considering she fostered 23 children in her home over the years, I would think she would need to be career minded to support all those children.
I ate a cajun boiled peanut from this jar of cajun boiled peanuts. Then I lost the jar and was devastated :-( Oh where oh where can my, baby be, lost that can at an ad agency........ DEVASTATED.
reminds me of that girl you met in college. She was kinda cute but she was emotionally slutty and divulged the most intimate of details (rape, molestation, etc, etc.) on your first date.
Save that stuff for when things get serious, otherwise it appears you are garnering sympathy.
@Vermalicious Why do you always have to be so mean to him?!
@Garbasche ~holds his head and pets him, cooing~ I Told you only mommy really loves you... All men are pigs, and I ~never~ wanted you to grow up like that...
----
Ok, I gotta stop now. This is crossing the line between "really effing creepy", and "I´m gonna pee myself laughing" ;-)
Back to what you said... I agree with what you meant ~lol~
And I have had men do that to me, too...
And... I´ve been a kinda guilty of that same sort of thing, but usually I try to express it in a way that means:
"Even though it makes me feel kinda giddy and silly inside that you bought me dinner, and a movie, I´m not sleeping with you on the first date... Because of "this"... and if you try screwing with my head, I´m gonna rip you apart"
But then... I´m not trying to garner votes... I´m trying to warn people away, for their own well being ;-)
This is my problem with current and past female presidential candidates. This country needs a STRONG leader. This whole miscarriage statement says only one thing to me. She´s looking for pity votes.
I´m all for a female president, if she´s strong enough to take on the men of the world without the emotional baggage that comes with most of our past female politicians..
"BE A MAN!" has always been a statement of "Show your strength, and don´t be a sissy." The only way we´ll have a successful female president is if she can "BE A MAN" emotionally.
