A newly-developed blood test can prove who is a baby´s father after only 12 weeks of pregnancy. Current methods can only be used much later.
The Non-Invasive Prenatal Paternity Test uses the so-called circulating cell-free fetal DNA in the blood of the mother.
"Not knowing precisely who the father is is a major issue. We believe the waiting really increases the stress level for everyone involved," Peter Vitulli, CEO of the responsible company DDC, said.
