Maryland: House and Senate Approve Same-Sex Marriage Bill

The state Senate in Maryland just approved a bill that would legalize same-sex marriage. This came about a week after it had passed the state House.

The bill will become law as soon as Maryland Gov. Martin O´Malley signed it. The Democrat is also the one who sponsered the bill.

Maryland would join Connecticut, New Hampshire, Iowa, Massachusetts, New York and Vermont, which have already legalized gay marriage.
