Apple to Launch iPad HD?

Apple is expected to announce the new version of its iPad Wednesday. Seems like after months of speculation, the new name of the device has been revealed.

It is believed that the new iPad is called iPad HD and not iPad 3 as previously assumed.

There also have been numerous leaks about the product, for example that it has a high resolution display (2048 x 1536).

  Kind of a misnomer considering

all of the previous devices and all other competing brands are already HD. My Acer A500 is 1040p and has an HDMI port (something Apple doesnt). The only difference here is really that the resolution is even larger. It can now handle blueray resolutions. Not a big deal really because again, all of the competing devices that are due out this year are also supposed to have the exact same thing.

Its funny because so many people I know that have iPads dont even use them for anything but Facebook.... I use mine for eBooks, taking notes in meetings, keep track of my todo list, etc. I even program on mine. I have built a couple of apps just to test out on it.

Most of the people that actually buy these things, specifically Apple people, have zero need for these devices. I have been waiting for something like this for years since it is helpful for my work. Having a $500 facebook reader seems a bit excessive but I guess the saying is true. A sucker is born every minute.
