Gallup Has Determined the Most Religious State

Data collected by Gallup shows that Mississippi is the most religious state in the US with 59 percent of Mississippians describing themselves as very religious.

The rest of the top 10 were New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Alaska, Oregon, Nevada, D.C. and New York.

Gallup classifies 40 percent of all Americans as very religious, 28 percent as moderately religious and 32 percent as non-religious. The poll is based on over 350,000 interviews.
