“Bank on Dave”: The Honest Bank Refused Bank Status

Dave’s dream is a bank for the people; he came up with the idea through his frustration with banks. Dave Fishwick’s thoughts on the banks are that they are “shit” a crude review, but a view also shared by millions of others.

Dave is an entrepreneur from Burnley, who made his millions by becoming one of the biggest suppliers of minibuses within the UK. He has managed to open ‘Bank On Dave’ and is still fighting to be recognized as a bank.

The FSA have put numerous stumbling blocks in Dave’s way and have yet to meet with him. At present Dave’s bank can offer savers 5% interest but must loan out the money. Any profit made by the bank is donated to charity.

  More on this story.

It´s not really called Bank of Dave, despite Fishwick´s best efforts. It´s the Burnley Savings and Loans and it will stay that way until City regulators, who have approved only one new bank in the last 100 years, grant the maverick 41-year-old a banking licence.

FSA are too busy lining their own pockets with back handers from the ´big banks´ to be bothered with this venture. I believe the FSA would be concerned that this bank would work and work well for everyone and that further irregularities would come to light regarding the already corrupt main banks.
We already know that the government (should say M.P´s) are in deep with the banks and they proved there was something lurking behind the scenes by holding a parliamentary inquiry into, for instance, Barclays recently, when there should have been a judicial inquiry to investigate what is basically fraud.
Come on Dave Fishwick, i´m rooting for you, i´ll bank on you.

  Dave

is bringing disgrace to the banking industry. Banking is a business based on greed, how would the poor, struggling banks be able to compete if someone actually started to give a rats bum about the consumers? The whole system would implode and people other than bankers and their political cronies would benefit.

  My main worry...

is if they give him his rightful status at all. :/

The FSA are moving the goal posts all the time, making our chance of a fair and trusted bank impossible!

Lib Dem,Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills met with Dave and has promised to bring this up in Parliament. And there is has stayed ever since!

won´t budge on this, why should they when there is nothing in it for them? The government past and present knew about the Libor scandal and to let it continue un-checked, some people somewhere must have been receiving sweeteners.
I think he should take this up with the E.U, they have more common sense and appear more open to new ideas. Go to the E.U courts and parliament for genuine change of policy.

  Maybe...

People should put this EU idea to Dave. It is disappointing because I have not heard any news on him and his venture for a long time. :(
