8-Year-Old Finds Piece of Whale Vomit Worth $63,000

Charlie Naysmith, 8 was strolling the beach in Bournemouth, Great Britain when he stumbled upon what he thought was just a yellowish beige rock. Later it turned out that the rock is a piece of ambergris, a substance expelled by sperm whales.

"He is into nature and is really interested in it. We have discovered it is quite rare and are waiting for some more information from marine biology experts," says his father Alex Naysmith.

The whale vomit has been estimated to be worth as much as $63,000.

  I was..
Just at the Outer Banks in North Carolina, looking for shells with the wife. What a waste of time, I should have been looking for whale puke!!
Hopefully the government there won´t claim nautical rights on the vomit!
