these incidents that keep happening the less I am buying from large food chains.

Nice choices we have had. GM and chemical foods along with meat and poultry pumped up with antibiotics and lord knows what else. As was said a long time ago; we are nothing but test guinea pigs to those that place themselves at the top of the pecking order in science labs, drug and food companies! It´s all in the name of profit and keeping shareholders happy. Never mind the peasants who eat their junk not knowing exactly what is in it.

Usually, the food sold in "health food" stores is made in China and not fit for human consumption. These so-called ´organic´ and ´free-range´ crap stores are scams. They are no more healthy than Walmart. The only way to get healty food is to grow it yourself; providing the soil you grow it in doesn´t contain industrial poisons you don´t know about. The entire Earth´s food chain is contaminated by unethical-capitalist-greedy-don´t-care millionaires. Buyer beware.

There are a lot of pitfalls.

We have to have some of the multi millionaire junk foods because we do not live near a farm and there is no garden in my life.

We are lucky enough to get farm grown local foods every so often. The food is really good and easy to keep as it is so fresh. A good sign of it not being contaminated is having to pick off the odd free protein (bug) that comes along for the ride. I used to hate the things but now I tend to think, if it is good enough for the grubs that plant is good enough for me.
